The Purpose of Schooling in the United States

Education is a powerful tool for a strong economy, change, social stability, and better healthcare. Having the skills and standards job demands gives a person the top priority to qualifications. Education has enhanced understanding in society, allowing communities to create a common language, culture, and values vital for social and economic growth (Janak, 2019). People attend schools to achieve their lifetime goals, including doctors, economists, drivers, teachers, and politicians. These individuals are critical for driving countries, providing healthcare services, and protecting countries from external attacks. With the help of potential investors, schools can have a better learning environment and infrastructure essential for educational progress.

The Purpose of Schooling as Presented in Scholarly Articles

In the 18th century, public schools were never taken seriously, and students were arranged in groups and skipped schools for various functions, including farming and other family duties. In this case, students learned little compared to the current education. Other children never attended school because they had not fully realized the importance of attending school, and learning centers were distant from their residences. In the 1980s, Japan and West Germany showed a competitive consistency in secondary and elementary schools, with the US students scoring lower than their counterparts (Janak, 2019). In this context, America added a new role for public schools and aimed to gain a competitive advantage.

Schooling Provides Students with Knowledge and Skills

Currently, different job opportunities need various skills acquired through education and the courses enrolled by an individual. A person who does not provide specific certification is unlikely to acquire a particular job opportunity. In America, those illiterate individuals are believed to involve themselves in gang groups and other activities that harm others. Public schools prepare individuals to interact with others from different regions, and learning languages helps them create a community of cultures and values critical for living and interacting freely. America is a nation consisting of people from different countries who have come to earn a living, and without a common language, these people cannot communicate effectively (Lewis & Manno, 2020). Therefore, schooling in the US is vital, promoting communication between different races and preparing people to lead choices-filled, live civilized and engaged life.

What Should Be the Purpose of Schooling in The United States

A democratic society needs dynamic individuals who can perform tasks to the maximum level. Talent experience creates a leadership culture where people are focused on the development of personal well-being. Exploiting human potential means unlocking the full capabilities of an individual that fosters better or improved performance for the personal growth, organization productivity, and clients they serve. Public schools should determine what the student does best and invest in that talent instead of giving general lessons that some fail to pass. These schools should not solely focus on good scores but on what the students can perform best and allow full development and functionality.

Schooling Should Promote Language and Cultural Diversity

Cognitive development prepares students how to explore and think critically. Students should be taught how to solve problems and dispositions and copy every situation for a better outcome. The knowledge to solve problems without conflicts or fights is essential in today’s world. Education helps students develop confidence, a strong personality, self-esteem, and confidence. Intellectual development enhances physical, phycological, and emotional health.

Schooling Should Provide Academic Foundation for Other Disciplines

In the leadership field, schooling gives students a platform to exercise their leadership skills and advance them to high levels, which can be applied in a broader area. Teachers should engage leaders within the school to determine their development needs and skills. If these teachers identify a gap in leadership, they should find ways to avail the required conditions.

How the Purpose of Teaching Might Impact Teaching Practice

A teacher with many functions cannot pay attention to individual student understanding of a particular topic in question. Teachers should assess their students to ensure every student understands what to do and how to do it. To achieve the desired results, they must first understand the concept, and practice, and focus on the main context. In this case, they can draw other ideas from outside study materials to make an informed decision or form a strong argument.

The Value of Theoretical Knowledge in Teaching Practice

Teaching should aim to enhance student understanding of the current situations, including job requirements and the importance of exploiting personal talent. In an organization, employees who can work on the opportunities they are competent in improve company productivity. If teaching focuses on providing interaction skills, communication skills, and a high understanding of the field of study, students can be vital to organizational success. Personal growth is also critical because industries need diverse employees who can function on different platforms and provide the best. Students should be provided a platform to raise their issues and discuss and present what they think is best for their intellectual development.
