Why Face-to-Face Is Better Than Online Education

Introduction

Currently, there are many opportunities for people to gain knowledge. One of the consequences of the global pandemic and lockdown was the popularity of online education. However, despite some of its advantages, it does not have the same effect as face-to-face education. Therefore, face-to-face education is better than the online approach as it provides reflection and feedback and provides an increased level of concentration and fewer distractions.

Reflection and Feedback

The first advantage that full-time education has in contrast to online is the ability to provide reflection and feedback. This is because in the learning process, it is essential for students to receive feedback and interact with the teacher and classmates (1). Moreover, they gain the opportunity to immediately get an answer to questions that arise and be involved in a discussion about a disturbing or incomprehensible topic. Another positive aspect of face-to-face education is personal interaction, which also facilitates the learning process.

Concentration and Distraction

The second advantage of full-time study is the increased concentration of students. In other words, they have a reduced number of factors, such as the phone, that can distract them from the task (2). In addition, they receive the necessary amount of information, and they do not have to investigate third-party sources, which also affects the child’s focus. A high level of concentration also occurs due to the classroom environment, which favorably affects this aspect.

Conclusion

In conclusion, face-to-face education has a significant advantage over online education. First, this is due to the fact that it has a favorable effect on the concentration and focus of students during the process of acquiring knowledge. Moreover, it promotes immediate feedback and reflection through direct personal interaction with the teacher and classmates. Despite the progressive development of online education, face-to-face acquisition of knowledge remains more effective.
